Al Ezzel is Bahrain’s first independent power station and recently began full commercial operation. It is a $500 million, 950 MW combined cycle plant, owned and operated by the Al Ezzel Power Company (AEPC).

Situated in 26 hectares of reclaimed land and taking 3 years to complete construction, the development of the new plant utilized 48,000 m3 of concrete and 4,200 tonnes of reinforcing steel.

The plant consists of two combined cycle power plant blocks each with two gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators with supplementary firing and one condensing steam-turbine with seawater cooling.
Al Ezzel has opened its doors with this great opportunity for delegates of POWER-GEN Middle East to gain an insight into one of the Middle East’s leading and newest power plants.
